In Case You Didn't Know ...
Moth flies are also sometimes called drain flies, sink flies, filter flies, or sewer gnats. Their larvae are semi-aquatic and feed on bacteria. The name comes from the fact that they look like tiny moths.
The most commonly seen (by humans) species adults appear around bathroom drains, showers and sinks. The larvae of these are beneficial in that they can actually eat through sewage sludge to get at their bacterial prey.
