Since its first appearance as a foreign invasive insect species in 1985 in Texas, the Asian tiger mosquito has spread rapidly across the Southeastern U.S.

This mosquito is a daytime feeder waiting in low-lying vegetation for warm-blooded prey. It is commonly known as a vector of various diseases. It is quite adaptable and can breed in very small sources of water.
