This frog of woodland habitat, blends in extremely well when climbing on tree bark. They are sometimes known as the Southern gray tree frog. This species of tree frog, along with the gray tree frog (H. versicolor) have a long orange patch on the underside of their hind legs which sets them apart from other small Hylid frogs.
