As their name indicates, this frog is green, with an abdomen of pale yellow or white. It is a medium sized frog with a total length of up to 2.5 inches.
Green treefrogs inhabit aquatic environs with plentiful floating vegetation, grasses, and cattails. They are often found in small ponds, large lakes, marshes, and streams.
The American green treefrog is the state amphibian of Georgia and Louisiana. It has only recently (since about 2010) been found in the park.
