Information Page for Pityohyphantes costatus (Hammock spider)

These 1/8 to 1/4 inch spiders build sheet webs that resemble hammocks. They wait for their prey in the corner of the web. Their habitat includes open fields as well as undisturbed corners of barns and outbuildings.
