Information Page for Vaejovis carolinianus (Southern Devil Scorpion)

Photographer: Unknown

This small scorpion may be found hunting through the leaf litter or rotting logs, or hiding under rocks in the park, looking for small insects or other arthropods to prey upon. Most of their activity occurs at night.

The sting of this animal is not lethal unless one is alergic to its venum. It could probably be equated with a sting of a large wasp.
