At right, DLIA Board Chairman, Ernie Bernard presents a portrait of a new species to science to U.S. Senator Lamar Alexander during the dedication of the Twin Creeks Science and Education Center. The Alexander springtail (Cosberella lamaralexanderi), was discovered during the ATBI and was named for the trademark plaid shirt Senator Alexander has been known to wear on the campaign trail.
