Fern Foray at Greenbrier

Photos by Kemp Davis, Jr.

The Greenbrier Fern Foray organized by Dr. Patricia Cox counted and identified ferns at plots along the trails in the Greenbrier area of the Park. Plots are 200 meters apart and their locations are recorded using GPS.

A beautiful day awaits the group.

Keith Langdon of the National Park Service points out possible trails.

The gnats can swarm at this time of year.

A large tree blocks the trail, but not progress.

Good food is part of every Fern Foray.
