SUMMARY:TVA Bioblitz - Chickamauga Dam
DESCRIPTION:**CANCELLED** \nDue to unusual flow conditions at the Chickamauga Dam\, TVA has asked us to postpone our BioBlitz to a future date. We are so sorry to anyone who had planned to come\, but hope you will check back with us to attend future bioblitzes! We are hoping to get this rescheduled sometime in July or the Fall. \nDLIA partners with TVA and regional scientists to engage people in a biological inventory of TVA’s public lands through BioBlitzes. Family friendly\, no experience necessary\, and free admission! \nThese events incorporate field collection\, specimen identification and education sessions. They offer an opportunity to get to know the biodiversity in our backyard and help TVA to better manage natural areas through species occurrence data. Participants survey birds\, butterflies and plants using provided  equipment. Experts will be on hand to train participants and identify species. \nBioBlitzes are family friendly and offer opportunities for the public to have hands-on experiences and interactions with scientists\, wildlife and their community. Anyone interested in Wildlife\, Biology\, Citizen Science\, Biodiversity and getting outside are encouraged to participate. \nFor the event\, participants should:\nBring food and water for the day (we will be in a place where there are no stores or restaurants).\nDress for being outside and for whatever weather might .\nDownload the iNaturalist application on your phone or smart device.
